Japanese Style Acupuncture

The philosophy of Japanese acupuncture emphasizes the patient’s comfort and relaxation during healing. Japanese style acupuncture is very gentle, using much finer needles applied with a soft hand to create a painless and relaxing treatment. Acupuncture stimulates the healthy flow of Ki (気, a word that translates to the essence of life force).

When the flow of Ki (気) is restored, natural healing begins and symptoms subside. Some treatments also include moxibustion, a warming herbal smoke that penetrates deep beneath the skin.

Japan has practiced a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine for 1500 years, evolving its own techniques and philosophy. The Japanese Hara technique is unique in its emphasis on abdominal examination, which is not used in traditional Chinese medicine.
